True Story: My email started our love affair Richelle & Martin
I was tired of the kind of men I was meeting and figured that I was going to be single forever. Martin had just came out of a really nasty (really, really nasty) relationship and had decided the single life was the only way to fly.
I had been divorced for ten years and dated very little because I was raising two young boys. I didn't want to just settle for finding a dad for my boys, and I sure didn't want just a husband just to have someone help raise them. I pretty much figured I would just do it myself.
Martin wanted to have a family. In fact, his last relationship consisted of four children and a crazy fiance, but after a little more than a year, he realized that she was not the right one.
One day, I found Match.com on my computer, and I decided to see what it was about. Martin had never believed in personal ads, computer dating or anything like that, but luckily he decided to register with Match.com just to see what would happen.
As I flipped through my search results, Martin's profile caught my eye. I sent him a little note started our email love affair. Within days we were talking on the phone, and we planned to meet in person. Months later our family gathered around us to witness our wedding.
For two people completely obstinate about Internet dating, we are completely, hopelessly and ridiculously in love. In fact, one of my best friends who knows how happy we are decided to post her own free profile; she's currently hot and heavy with her own Match.com guy!
