True Story: He was perfect for me

I joined Match.com after a holiday season spent very much alone. I posted a profile and a photo and boom! I met a whole host of interesting men. I went on a lot of first dates and occasionally a second date, but none of the men who matched my criteria seemed like the perfect match for me.
On the flip side, Ken had joined Match.com but had never actually used the service. The first—and only—night he decided to send emails to a few female members, he sent one to me. He liked my profile and thought, “We should chat.”
When I first heard from Ken, I was confused because I had never seen his profile before. And when I read it I laughed—he was perfect for me. But he was one year too young and 2 inches too short to appear in my matches! So much for search criteria! I loved what he had to say in his profile, so I responded.
After a rash of emails and a few phone calls, Ken and I met for the first time, and we felt like we were friends already. We knew from our profiles that we had a lot of favorite activities in common, and we began doing as many of these things together. What fun! It was so easy to fall in love with each other, and now it's absolutely impossible to imagine our lives if we weren't together.
Ken and I are now engaged and love to tell people how we met. Most people don’t believe us. But most people don’t find love like this, either. |
